: Allied Captain Joseph Piller, a Jewish Dutch Resistance fighter, is tasked with identifying and recovering art stolen by the Nazis. During his investigation, he discovers a priceless Johannes Vermeer painting, Christ and the Adulteress , in a cache of art belonging to Nazi Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring.
