Annie receives her first real writing assignment from her boss, Gabe: a food review of a local strip club's lunch buffet. Though Gabe is initially frustrated that she didn't follow his specific instructions, her insightful piece is published and becomes her first "hit" article.

Following the events of the first episode, Ryan attempts to make amends for his past behavior. He invites Annie on their first "proper" date to a restaurant, though the effort is somewhat undercut when his brother and friends join them later.
