The curriculum for first-graders is divided into five main thematic sections:
: Distinguishing, reading, and writing numbers 0–9 and up to 20; understanding the concept of a "ten"; and comparing single-digit and two-digit numbers.
: Recognizing shapes like circles, squares, and triangles; understanding points, lines, segments, and rays; and measuring length in centimeters and decimeters.
: Developing the ability to analyze and solve simple word problems by identifying the condition, the question, and the solution.
