During a scuffle, Virguley is knocked unconscious and wakes up in , the height of the Cangaço era. The locals immediately mistake him for the real Lampião. Seizing the opportunity to live a life of power and luxury, Virguley gathers a gang of bandits and quickly becomes the town's de facto leader.
