Tatiana Mills (Odeya Rush) is a rebellious teenager and social outcast who starts writing to General Anton Vincent (Michael Caine), a ruthless Caribbean dictator, for a school assignment. When Vincent is overthrown in a coup, he flees to the United States and takes refuge in Tatiana’s suburban garage. In exchange for shelter, the dictator teaches Tatiana how to launch a "coup" against the popular cliques at her high school using revolutionary tactics.

Mi querido dictador (released internationally as Dear Dictator ) is a 2018 high-concept comedy that attempts to blend the "mean girls" teen trope with political satire.
