To save Caesar and Speedwagon, Joseph lures Wamuu away by appearing to flee on a horse-drawn cart.

Despite Joseph's trickery, Wamuu is intrigued by his potential. He spares Joseph but implants a poisonous ring around his aorta, which will kill him in 33 days unless he defeats Wamuu to get the antidote.
