Jack Hamm (1916–1996) was more than just an art teacher; he was a prolific cartoonist who worked on iconic strips like and Alley Oop before taking an unexpected turn into theology. Despite his early success in the commercial art world, he turned down offers for his own syndicated strip to study at Baylor University and eventually became a prominent Christian cartoonist.
