The story begins at the bottom of a , where the displaced residents of Donut County are gathered around a campfire. Among them is Mira , a human girl, and BK , a self-centered raccoon who runs a local donut shop.

BK's greed eventually backfires when he accidentally swallows himself and his shop, landing in the same pit as the neighbors he displaced. Mira, his best friend and moral anchor, confronts him about his reckless behavior.
