Based on the 2018 film 12 Valientes (titled 12 Strong in English), here is the story of the "Horse Soldiers".
In the immediate aftermath of the September 11 attacks, Captain Mitch Nelson (played by Chris Hemsworth) leads a handpicked 12-man U.S. Special Forces team—Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) 595—into the treacherous mountains of Afghanistan. Their objective is a top-secret mission to dismantle the Taliban regime and deny Al-Qaeda sanctuary.
